With a lot of help from Jaime Rivera and Gio Magaña-Rivera, at Parks & Rec, Skate Camp is back for another summer at the Hood River Skatepark. Every weekday we’ll be pushing ourselves from 10am - 3pm as we learn skills, make friends and create experiences.

All abilities on both skateboards and scooters are welcome! Use the link to sign-up for a 1-day, 3-day or 5-day session.

  • All ability levels, including ‘never-ever’s are welcome at skate camp.

  • We do! Any kids in the gorge (Washington too!) with any type of government assistance, even the free school lunch program, can qualify for a free 5-day session. Just call Gio at the Rec Deck to get enrolled.

  • When you sign up for camp you’ll get list of items to bring, as well as detailed camp information. A skateboard, scooter, helmet, pads, snacks, lunch, water bottle and sunscreen are encouraged.

  • Yes, please pack your camper a lunch. Last summer we had provided lunch from NYC subs and Pelinti Pizza, but since we’re running every weekday this summer we’ve decided not include the ‘provided-lunch’ program. If this changes you will be notified through the sign-up information. Thanks for understanding. We have a watermelon around 11am every day.

In other news, we’re looking for a watermelon sponsor… if you‘ve got family in Hermiston set us up! 🍉

  • Helmets are required and pads are greatly encouraged. Wrist guards are a good idea for beginners.

  • We’re not offering the pool after camp this year simply because we lack the transportation options. If this changes you will be notified in the sign-up information.
